Slavia Prague preview: Avoiding humiliation
Slavia Prague reached the league phase of the UEFA Europa League last season and they managed just one victory. They haven’t played in the ‘proper’ bit of the UEFA Champions League since they collected two points from six 2019/20 group games.
They have, though, returned to Europe’s elite club competition this season as a result of winning the Czech First League last season. They have also began the defence of their title with six victories and two draws in their opening eight games domestically.
Bodo/Glimt preview: Finally in the UCL
Coached by Kjetil Knutsen, Bodo/Glimt have emerged as the preeminent force in Norwegian football, but they have yet to make the UEFA Champions League – until now.
In recent years, the team from the Arctic Circle have put in staggering performances and results in Europe, including reaching the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League last season. They most recently hammered Kristiansund by seven goals to one at the weekend as they sit at the top of the Eliteserien table.
Slavia Prague team news: Schranz is back
Slovakia international winger Ivan Schranz has returned to full fitness after a muscle injury, just in time for the UEFA Champions League. David Javorcek, though, is a doubt for the hosts due to a knee issue.
Predicted XI (3-4-3): Stanek; Holes, Zima, Chaloupek; Hashioka, Zafeiris, Dorley, Zmrzly; Chytil, Provod, Schranz
Unavailable: Javorcek (Injured)

Bodo/Glimt team news: Key issues
Bodo/Glimt head to the Czech capital with some key issues and some question marks over key players. Kasper Hogh is due back later this month from a thigh injury, whilst Uli Saltnes is also a doubt due to illness.
Predicted XI (4-1-4-1): Khaikin; Sjovold, Bjortuft, Gundersen, Riisnaes; Berg; Jorgensen, Evjen, Auklend, Hauge; Brynhildsen
Unavailable: Bjorkan (Injured), Moe (Injured), Hogh (Injured), Maatta (Injured)
Questionable: Saltnes (Illness), Blomberg (Injured)
Slavia Prague vs Bodo/Glimt prediction
Slavia Prague will be reliant on key attacker Ivan Schranz immediately finding his fluency and quality upon return from injury. The hosts have a solid side, but will be expected to be among the weakest teams in the 36-team league table. This represents a major opportunity for both sides to lay down a marker and give themselves a sniff of a top 24 finish, but siding with the visitors in a potentially entertaining encounter would appear a good bet for this one in the Czech capital.
Slavia Prague vs Bodo/Glimt Tip: Bodo/Glimt to win & both teams to score
