Sheffield Utd vs Sunderland prediction

Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United were relegated from the Premier League last season before an impressive second-tier campaign that collapsed towards the end of the season when they had been in an excellent position for automatic promotion. Sunderland themselves also finished the season very poorly after fourth place became the only spot for the Black Cats to be with just over a month to go under the management of former Lorient boss Regis Le Bris.

In the Championship playoff semi-finals, the Blades comfortably defeated Bristol City by six goals to nil on aggregate with two 3-0 victories, whilst Sunderland needed a last-gasp Daniel Ballard goal deep into extra-time to see off Coventry City at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland’s performance level has been low for a while now but they do have some real talent across the park. However, Sheffield United can match that quality and have a bit more know how for this occasion so would have to be viewed as favourites in London this weekend.

Sheffield Utd vs Sunderland tip: Sheffield Utd to win & under 3.5 goals
