Seattle Sounders team news: Morris minutes expected

After Kim Kee-hee recovered from injury to play the first half against Botafogo, Stuart Hawkins is now the only reported injury absentee in the Seattle Sounders camp.

Jordan Morris could be involved after being an unused substitute last time out, but he is unlikely to be handed a start just yet given that he has only recently recovered from injury.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Frei; A. Roldan, Kim, Ragen, Tolo; Vargas, C. Roldan, Vargas; Ferreira, Rusnak, Kent; Musovski

Unavailable: Hawkins (Injured)

Atletico Madrid team news: Lenglet suspended

Diego Simeone will consider changes after the humiliation against Paris Saint-Germain, but he will be forced into at least one alteration given that Clement Lenglet is suspended for receiving his marching orders in the opening defeat.

The likes of Nahuel Molina and Conor Gallagher could come into the starting XI should the Atletico boss shake things up.

Predicted XI (4-4-2): Oblak; Molina, Le Normand, Gimenez, Galan; Simeone, De Paul, Barrios, Koke; Griezmann, Alvarez

Unavailable: Lenglet (Suspended)

Seattle Sounders vs Atletico Madrid prediction

Seattle Sounders fought well against Brazilian outfit Botafogo in their Group B opener, and came close to snatching a draw in what was ultimately a 2-1 defeat for the MLS side.

Unfortunately for the Sounders, it doesn’t get any easier for them as they now face back-to-back fixtures against European heavyweights in Group B.

A bruised Atletico Madrid are next up, with the La Liga outfit having been humbled by recent UEFA Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain in a 4-0 defeat.

Simeone’s men were soundly second best in that contest, but they should enjoy more success here against an opponent who are a significant step down in quality.

The Sounders may have the advantage of playing in front of their home crowd, but Atletico’s quality should shine though with a win to nil anticipated.
