Key stats

  • Scotland have won seven of their previous nine international matches at home against Denmark (L2).
  • Scotland are unbeaten in their last 13 home matches in World Cup qualifying groups (W10 D3). This excludes their play-off defeat against Ukraine in June 2022 (L 1-3).
  • Denmark have lost just one of their last 24 World Cup qualifying matches (W18 D5).
  • Denmark have won ten of their last 11 World Cup qualifying matches away from home (L1).
  • Denmark have kept six clean sheets in their last seven World Cup qualifying matches away from home.

Scotland vs Denmark prediction

Scotland head into this one on the back of a surprising and frustrating 3-2 defeat to Greece at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus the other day. Steve Clarke’s Tartan Army have been knocked out of the group stages in the last two UEFA European Championships and they haven’t qualified for a FIFA World Cup since 1998.

It should really all be over for the Scots but they were done a massive favour by a poor Belarus side the other day as the Belarusians managed to earn themselves their first point of UEFA qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a shock goalless draw against Denmark in Copenhagen.

That means this is now a playoff in which Denmark sit on 11 and will qualify with the avoidance of a defeat, whilst the Scots overtake them with a win and that could lead to a chaotic thriller at Hampden Park in Glasgow.

Scotland vs Denmark tip: Both teams to score
