Sassuolo preview: Steady start

Following the departure of manager Fabio Grosso to big spending Fiorentina, who has since already been sacked by I Viola, Sassuolo now have former Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani at the helm with I Neroverdi seeking a push for the European spots.

After a hard-fought and unfortunate 2-1 defeat to Atalanta in their opener, Sassuolo have since beaten Torino and then Frosinone on penalties in the cup before an entertaining 2-2 draw with Bologna last weekend.

Juventus preview: Snatching a point

Luciano Spalletti is in his first full season in charge of Juventus with the Bianconeri seeking to put right what went wrong as they missed out on the top four and the UEFA Champions League spots in Serie A last season.

The Old Lady began with victories against Frosinone and Parma before snatching a point at home to AC Milan last weekend, courtesy of a Federico Gatti equaliser in second half stoppage-time at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.

Sassuolo team news: Fresh attacking doubts

Sassuolo are dealing with fresh doubts in the final third this weekend as Darryl Bakola deals with an injury alongside Australia international attacker Cristian Volpato.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Muric; Cinquegrano, Idzes, Leysen, Doig; Adzic, Matic, Lipani; Berardi, Bowie, Lauriente

Unavailable: Cande (Injured), Pieragnolo (Injured), Kone (Injured), Boloca (Injured)

Questionable: Walukiewicz (Fitness), Bakola (Injured), Volpato (Injured)

Juventus team news: Several injuries

Juventus are dealing with several injury issues for this weekend with Jeremie Boga and Manuel Locatelli now fresh confirmed absentees for the visitors now.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Kalulu, Bremer, Jhon Lucumi, Celik; Koopmeiners, Douglas Luiz; Conceicao, Gonzalez, Alajbegovic; Kolo Muani

Unavailable: Juan Cabal (Injured), Locatelli (Injured), Thuram (Injured), Boga (Injured), Ekhator (Injured), Yildiz (Injured), Milik (Injured)

Questionable: Cambiaso (Injured), Sarr (Fitness), McKennie (Injured)

Sassuolo vs Juventus prediction

Juventus haven’t quite been at the fluent best of a Spalletti-coached team but Juve haven’t quite had the opposition and the space to punish just yet – but that is not expected to be the case against the proactive Sassuolo side under Aquilani. As a result, this could be a reasonably fun watch for the neutral on Sunday and both teams scoring seems a decent bet for this one at the Mapei Stadium.
