Key stats

  • Romania have won the previous four international matches between these teams.
  • Romania have lost only two of their last 11 World Cup qualifying matches at home (W7 D2).
  • Romania have kept five clean sheets in their last six World Cup qualifying matches at home.
  • San Marino have lost 81 of their 83 World Cup qualifiers, with the only exceptions being a 0-0 draw against Türkiye in 1993 and a 1-1 draw against Latvia in 2001.

Romania vs San Marino prediction

It has been a disappointing year for Romania after that aforementioned impressive UEFA Nations League campaign. The Romanians had their qualifying campaign ended in Bilino Polje the other day as they suffered a 3-1 loss to Bosnia-Herzegovina, having been 1-0 up and then gone down to ten men at 1-1.

They now face a San Marino side that have improved of late, having gained promotion from League D of the UEFA Nations League last year. The Sammarinese have scored in this qualifying campaign but remain pointless as they come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat to Czechia in a friendly the other day.

San Marino are an improving side and yet they have still conceded 32 goals in their seven qualifiers, and so a comfortable Romanian win is still to be expected.

Romania vs San Marino tip: Romania to win -3 handicap
