They now face a Universitario side that head into their final group stage game sitting second in the table on just seven points from their five matches, sitting two points ahead of Independiente del Valle, who take on Barcelona in the final game – who could also catch Universitario with a two-goal goal difference swing.

A lot may well rest on that game because, despite the fact they have already won the group, River remain firm favourites for this one, especially with home advantage at El Monumental.
