RFS vs Ajax Prediction

Rigas Futbola Skola overachieved by even qualifying for the 36-team UEFA Europa League league phase with the Latvians struggling in the competition ahead of facing Ajax this week.

RFS come into this one on the back of not playing competitive football since facing Maccabi Tel-Aviv in Israel in the sixth match day of the UEFA Europa League last month. They have drawn two and lost four of their opening six matches of this campaign but did regain the Latvian Higher League table in 2024, sitting three points above city rivals Riga.

They now face an Ajax side that, coached by former Nice manager Francesco Farioli, have closed the gap on league leaders and defending champions PSV Eindhoven to just one point in the Dutch Eredivisie. The Amsterdam-based club had been impressive in the UEFA Europa League up until back-to-back defeats ahead of the seventh match day of the campaign.

RFS have proven themselves often competitive and slightly difficult to beat, as was the case when they nearly held Eintracht Frankfurt earlier in the campaign, but Ajax are the overwhelming favourites to win this one quite comfortably in the Latvian capital.

RFS vs Ajax Tip: Ajax to win -1 handicap
