It has been a very difficult return to the third-tier for Port Vale as Darren Moore now welcomes last season’s playoff finalists Leyton Orient to Vale Park this weekend.

Port Vale vs Leyton Orient prediction

In their opening six matches, following their automatic promotion to League One last season, Port Vale have collected just two points with four defeats. The Valiants have conceded just six goals in that time, and so they will believe and hope that their ability to stay in games and ensure things keep competitive will keep them on track.

They now face a Leyton Orient side that saw their playoff final side dismantled over the summer, but Richie Wellens will be expected to push the O’s back towards promotion once again this season. The east Londoners come into this one, though, on the back of back-to-back defeats in League One.

The form of Leyton Orient has been unconvincing, despite their squad still being strong, and perhaps siding with Port Vale may well be a good value bet for this one in Staffordshire.

Port Vale vs Leyton Orient tip: Double chance – Port Vale to win & under 3.5 goals
