Plymouth vs Stockport prediction

Plymouth Argyle have started their League One campaign, following their relegation from the Championship, with just one victory and five defeats in their opening six matches. Tom Cleverley’s Pilgrims come into this one on the back of a much-needed win as they defeated Cheltenham Town by two goals to nil in the EFL Trophy in midweek.

They now face a Stockport County side that have been on a consistent upward trajectory under Dave Challinor and the Hatters, who were playoff semi-finalists last season, are expected to challenge for the title. They haven’t been overly convincing at the start of this season, though, most recently sharing a 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic.

Stockport will head down south still striving for some fluency and form and, despite their lack of a strong performance level just yet, they remain favourites for this one.
