  • Peru have won only two of their last 18 World Cup qualifying matches (D7 L9).
  • Peru have failed to score in seven of their last eight World Cup qualifying matches.
  • Paraguay have lost only one of their last 11 World Cup qualifying matches (W5 D5).
  • Paraguay are without a win in their last 16 World Cup qualifying matches away from home (D8 L8), since a 1-0 victory in Venezuela in October 2020.

Peru vs Paraguay prediction

Peru had an incredibly slim chance of finishing in the inter-confederation play-off spot heading into the penultimate set of CONMEBOL qualifying fixtures, but that hope was extinguished when they lost 3-0 to Uruguay in Montevideo.

Unbeaten in their last nine home matches though, head coach Oscar Ibanez will be keen to oversee a positive conclusion to their campaign, and also avoid finishing in last place (Chile are two points below them in the qualifying table).

By earning a point in a goalless draw against Ecuador last time out, Paraguay did what they needed to in order to finish in an automatic qualification spot for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Having lost just once in their last 11 qualifiers, Paraguay are a tough team to beat, and they would likely be content with a point here. Peru can be a tough nut to crack at home though, so this could be a fairly cagey battle with little in the way of goalmouth action.

Peru vs Paraguay tip: Under 2.5 goals
