Paris FC have started the season well as the capital city club now welcome a strong Strasbourg side to Stade Jean-Bouin on Saturday.

Paris preview: Steady start

Paris FC come into this one on the back of a goalless draw with Olympique Lyonnais in their most recent outing at Stade Jean-Bouin, meaning that they have started this season with two victories and two draws in their opening four matches.

The Parisians spent heavily over the summer with the appointment of Liam Rosenior as they attempt to kick on in their second season back in Ligue 1 and push for potential European qualification in the French top-flight.

Strasbourg preview: Strong Strasbourg

Strasbourg started their season with a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Olympique de Marseille at Stade Velodrome in a scoreline that was harsh for the Alsace-based outfit – and they have since recovered with two victories and a draw since then.

Up against a strong Monaco side who had enjoyed three successive victories at the start of this season, Strasbourg earned themselves a 1-1 draw with the Monegasque last weekend at Stade de la Meinau.

Paris team news: Defensive injuries

Thibault De Smet is a fresh injury doubt for Paris with defensive trio Emmanuel Mbemba, Otavio and Nhoa Sangui all also sidelined for the hosts.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Trapp; Chergui, Coppola, Traore; Camara, Lopez, Lees-Melou, Koleosho; Kebbal, Pagis; Sinayoko

Unavailable: Mbemba (Injured), Otavio (Injured), Sangui (Injured)

Questionable: De Smet (Injured)

Strasbourg team news: Couple of absentees

Last season’s top scorer, Joaquin Panichelli, remains sidelined for Strasbourg alongside former Fulham and Wigan Athletic winger Martial Godo.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Jorgensen; Antwi, Mitchell, Doukoure, Oso; Sousa, Diop; Nanasi, Reyna, Yassine; Jacobo Ortega

Unavailable: Godo (Injured), Panichelli (Injured)

Questionable:

Paris vs Strasbourg prediction

Strasbourg had previously defeated last season’s runners-up Lens before then hammering newly-promoted Troyes by six goals to two in their victories ahead of that draw against Monaco. Paris have been controlled, as is the want of Rosenior and his possession-based style, but Hugo Oliveira’s Strasbourg will be capable of drawing them out and so both teams scoring seems a decent bet for this one.

Paris vs Strasbourg tip: Both teams to score
