Paris preview: Impressive Parisians

Big spending and ambitious Paris FC took the decision to appoint former Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior and the Englishman has enjoyed a positive start to life in the French capital city.

After a goalless draw with newly-promoted Troyes on the opening day of the season, the Parisians have since hammered Nice by three goals to nil before a Lassine Sinayoko hat-trick saw them defeat Olympique de Marseille at the Stade Velodrome last weekend.

Lyon preview: Back on track

In August, Olympique Lyonnais suffered a UEFA Champions League play-off round defeat to Turkish giants Fenerbahce but Lyon have remained strong in Ligue 1 with two victories and a draw in their opening three matches.

Lyon come into this one on the back of an impressive 3-1 defeat of Auxerre at Parc OL last weekend, courtesy of goals scored by defenders Felix Bacher and Zachary Athekame, as well as one from Ghana international Ernest Nuamah.

Paris team news: A few injuries

Former Porto defender Otavio is sidelined alongside Nhoa Sangui with key forward Jonathan Ikone close to returning from a hamstring injury.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Trapp; Camara, Traore, Coppola, Chergui; Lopez, Lees-Melou; Kebbal, Pagis, Koleosho; Sinayoko

Unavailable: Otavio (Injured), Sangui (Injured)

Questionable: Mbemba (Injured), Ikone (Injured)

Lyon team news: Nothing fresh

Lyon head to the capital city with no fresh injury issues or suspension concerns but former Borussia Dortmund forward Julian Duranville remains a doubt for the visitors.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Greif; Athekame, Bacher, Niakhate, Abner; Bidstrup, Morton; Nuamah, Tolisso, Sulc; Openda

Unavailable:

Questionable: Duranville (Injured)

Paris vs Lyon prediction

Paris appear well set to challenge for the top seven or eight and the European spots in Ligue 1 once again this season as they now face their toughest test of the season against Lyon. Paulo Fonseca has helped to refocus the minds of his Lyon side that would be forgiven for licking their wounds from their European exit. However, both managers love control and that may not lead to a thriller for the neutral here.

Paris vs Lyon tip: Under 2.5 goals
