Paraguay vs Ecuador prediction

Paraguay’s only defeat in their last ten qualifiers came against Brazil last time out, and that solid run means that they are guaranteed to at least make the inter-confederation play-offs.

Gustavo Alfaro’s side essentially need only a point to ensure automatic qualification though, and they would of course prefer to get that done here rather than in their last fixture against Peru.

The hard work is already done for Ecuador though, with Sebastian Beccacece’s men having been the surprise package in CONMEBOL qualifying this time around.

In second place heading into the penultimate round of fixtures, Ecuador’s success has been built on a watertight defence; despite scoring only 13 goals in their 16 qualifiers to date, they have conceded a paltry five.

There is no reason to think that will change here, and with Paraguay likely to be content with a point, a low-scoring affair is expected.

Paraguay vs Ecuador tip: Under 1.5 goals
