Nicolai Budkov Kjaer vs Marin Cilic prediction
Nicolai Budkov Kjaer picked up his fourth Challenger title of the year earlier this month and is now up to a ranking of 136, the highest in his career so far. The Norwegian also has a main draw win on the ATP Tour after making it through to the second-round in Bastad. The 19-year-old will be hoping to end the season strongly and faces Grand Slam champion Marin Cilic in round one of the Stockholm Open.
Cilic has three defeats from his last four matches and has not managed to achieve strong results since his round-of-16 finish at Wimbledon. In fairness, he has had some difficult draws, as he faced Alexander Bublik at the US Open, Jannik Sinner in Beijing and Novak Djokovic in Shanghai.
Cilic has had it tough recently in terms of his opponents, but this is a very presentable opportunity for the veteran to get his campaign in Stockholm off and running with a win.
