Malmo vs Twente Prediction

Malmo head into the seventh match day of the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League campaign on the verge of their elimination being confirmed alongside upcoming opponents Twente this week.

The Swedish champions, under the management of Henrik Rydstrom, come into this one on the back of no competitive football since they shared a 2-2 draw with Galatasaray at the Eleda Stadium last month in a game in which they were 2-1 down until Sergio Pena notched a second-half stoppage-time equaliser for the Swedes.

They now face an FC Twente side that have underwhelmed domestically this season, coming into this one on the back of a defeat to NAC Breda at the weekend a few days after a 3-1 loss to Go Ahead Eagles in the Round of 16 of the KNVB Cup last week. They have drawn four and lost two of their six matches in the UEFA Europa League.

It would take something approaching a miracle for either of these sides to qualify for the knockout playoffs, albeit a victory here gives either side a chance. Given that, it could end up being a gung-ho winner takes all-like affair in which both teams score.
