Mainz preview: Good start
Mainz know that if they are to have a successful season, home form needs to be good. That makes this an important game, especially after a promising start which has seen them pick up four points from a possible six. After a goalless draw vs Paderborn, Mainz took Hamburg to the cleaners at the Volksparkstadion, winning 0-5.
A brace for Tietz at Hamburg was complemented by goals from left-wing-back Mwene, Konigsdorffer against his former club and striker Sheraldo Becker in what was a statement victory from Urs Fischer’s side.
Eintracht Frankfurt preview: Feeling the heat
Eintracht Frankfurt fans can be forgiven for already starting to get frustrated at their side after what has been a significantly underwhelming start to the new campaign. An entertaining 3-3 draw away at Union Berlin, was followed up by them dropping a huge egg at home against Augsburg.
It looked like being a different story after taking the lead early on, which they held until half-time. But it all went disastrous wrong in the second half, Frankfurt conceding four goals without reply, stunning the home crowd.
Mainz team news: Deadly duo up top
Expect Tietz and Becker to lead the line once again as a strike-partnership for a Mainz side without the likes of Dominik Kohr and Eric Martel, Paul Nebel and Silas through injury.
Predicted XI (3-5-2): Zentner; Posch, Gruber, Potulski; Caci, Lee, Sano, Amiri, Mwene; Becker, Tietz
Unavailable: Kohr (Injured), Nebel (Injured), Silas (Injured), Martel (Injured), Widmer (Injured)

Eintracht Frankfurt team news: Hamstring issues
Two Eintracht Frankfurt players are ruled out with hamstring injuries, whilst defender Nnamdi Collins is also out, he has a back problem.
Predicted XI (3-4-1-2): Atubolu; Maluze, Koch, Brassier; Doan, Gotze, Onyedika, Kosugi; Uzun; Ebnoutalib, Burkardt
Unavailable: Collins (Injured), Knauff (Injured), Ngankam (Injured)

Mainz vs Eintracht Frankfurt prediction
Mainz have the opportunity to take advantage of a team low on confidence and one that looked extremely shaky defensively in their last game. Mainz on the other hand, have been ruthlessly efficient up top and that Becker, Tietz partnership should reap its rewards. Becker’s physicality especially, is a good match-up against Eintracht Frankfurt.
The visitors will struggle to outscore any opposition, let alone Mainz whenever they play as they did last weekend. But MEWA Arena has always been hard for any away team to get a victory, let alone a side that have looked as bad as Frankfurt have recently. Utilise the double chance market and back Mainz to grab at least a draw, if not three points.
