Lorient preview: Mixed start

As a part of the Black Knight Group alongside AFC Bournemouth, off-field running of the club remains impressive at Lorient – with a managerial change over the summer from Olivier Pantaloni to Alexandre Dujeux designed to propel them into European contention.

The home team have started with a win, a draw and a defeat thus far. Lorient’s win was a good one, too, as they defeated last year’s stuttering runners-up Lens by a goal to nil away from home at Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

Toulouse preview: Tough start

Over the summer, Toulouse lost manager Carlos Martinez Novell to Bayer Leverkusen and replaced him with Jens Berthel Askou, who led Motherwell to UEFA Europa Conference League qualification from the Scottish Premiership last season.

Toulouse began with a 2-0 loss at home to Olympique Lyonnais before twice giving up a lead in a 2-2 draw with Stade Brest. They were then beaten by Lille at Stadium de Toulouse last weekend.

Lorient team news: Fadiga out

Lorient have a fresh injury concern for this weekend as midfielder Bandiougou Fadiga is now unavailable for the hosts ahead of the visit of Toulouse this week.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Mvogo; Sylla, Talbi, Adjei; Kone, Mbamba, Cadiou, Kouassi; Bernardeau, Makengo; Katseris

Unavailable: Fadiga (Injured)

Questionable:

Toulouse team news: Couple of doubts

Toulouse head to Stade du Moustoir with a couple of injuries and one includes first-choice goalkeeper Guillaume Restes, who is now dealing with a thigh issue.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Schmidt; Messali, McKenzie, Nicolaisen, Tape; Vossah, Cristian Casseres Jr; Santiago Hidalgo, Jorgensen, Azizi; Russell-Rowe

Unavailable: Francis (Injured)

Questionable: Restes (Injured), Donnum (Injured)

Lorient vs Toulouse prediction

Toulouse are experiencing teething issues at the start of this season, not helped by their departures over the summer including Mark McKenzie, Charlie Cresswell, Dayann Methalie and Emersonn. Lorient started slowly but may well have begun to turn a corner last weekend and so they will fancy themselves to edge past Toulouse here, especially with their home advantage.

Lorient vs Toulouse tip: Double chance – Lorient to win or draw
