Liverpool return to Premier League action after having skipped last weekend's round of fixtures due to the Merseyside Derby being postponed. Fulham are up next, with the Cottagers having proven to be stubborn opponents of late.

How to watch on TV: UK – Not televised / US – Peacock Premium

Liverpool Preview: Machine-like

Last weekend turned out well for Liverpool despite their scheduled fixture against local foes Everton being postponed due to severe weather, as title rivals Man City and Arsenal both dropped points to leave the Reds four points clear of the chasing pack with a game in hand.

Liverpool's last Premier League outing was the 3-3 draw with Newcastle - only the third time they have failed to win in any competition this season - while they continued their perfect record in the Champions League on Tuesday with a 0-1 success at Girona.

Fulham Preview: Tough to beat

It's now just one defeat in the last seven games for Fulham, who were one of the teams who did Liverpool a favour last week when they held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage. Raul Jimenez' first goal in seven Premier League games gave them an early lead, but William Saliba restored parity not long after the break.

The Cottagers have won just one of their last 14 meetings with Liverpool (all competitions), but that victory did come at Anfield with a Mario Lemina goal giving them a 0-1 victory in March 2021.

Liverpool Team News: Mac Allister banned but Jota could be involved

Federico Chiesa and Diogo Jota could be included in the match day squad having both largely recovered from their respective injuries, although it is likely too soon for them to start.

Alexis Max Allister is absent due to suspension, while Cody Gakpo is an option to come into the side in attack, potentially at the expense of the misfiring Darwin Nunez.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Szoboszlai, Gravenberch, Jones; Salah, Gakpo, Diaz

Unavailable: Konate (Injured), Bradley (Injured), Mac Allister (Suspended)

Questionable: Tsimikas (Injured), Chiesa (Fitness), Jota (Injured)

Fulham Team News: Two suspensions & Nelson blow

Although Joachim Andersen is close to a return, he will not make this fixture, and with fellow defender Calvin Bassey suspended, Jorge Cuenca could be selected as Issa Diop's partner at centre-back.

Tom Cairney is also serving a ban, while Marco Silva has confirmed that Reiss Nelson will miss up to ten weeks of action due to a hamstring issue. Harrison Reed (knee) is still out.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Leno; Tete, Diop, Cuenca, Robinson; Berge, Lukic; Iwobi, Smith Rowe, Traore; Jimenez

Unavailable: Bassey (Suspended), Andersen (Injured), Reed (Injured), Cairney (Suspended), Nelson (Injured)

Liverpool vs Fulham Prediction

Liverpool were not at their best in their midweek trip to Girona but, as they have done so often have this season, they found a way to win. Fulham could represent another tough assignment as Cottagers boss Marco Silva has them well-drilled and capable of frustrating the big teams. They have held both Spurs and Arsenal lately, and they have found the net in their last 16 games in all competitions. Therefore, it wouldn't be a surprise if they were to breach the Liverpool rearguard here, even in defeat.
