Lille preview: Impressive but beaten
Lille have started the 2026-27 Ligue 1 season strongly following the surprise appointment of Davide Ancelotti, the son of Carlo Ancelotti, but the northerners did succumb to defeat in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.
Up against La Liga outfit Real Betis in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League, Lille twice took the lead in the first half but eventually saw themselves beaten 3-2 at Stade Pierre-Mauroy by Los Verdiblancos.
Troyes preview: Hammered last time out
A member of the City Football Group, Troyes had started the season reasonably well back in Ligue 1, following their promotion last season, but they succumbed to an annihilation at home to Strasbourg last weekend.
In that game, Troyes took an early lead before Jacobo Ortega and Diogo Sousa turned things around for Strasbourg before half time. Gio Reyna and a Sam Amo-Ameyaw brace, as well as a Conrad Harder strike made it 6-1 before a Jeremy Le Douaron consolation.
Lille team news: Nothing fresh
Ethan Mbappe, the brother of Kylian Mbappe, is now suspended in Europe but is available here with Lille having no other fresh injury concerns or suspension issues.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Ozer; Santos, Ngoy, Alexsandro, Perraud; Andre, Bentaleb; Mbappe, Perrin, Haraldsson; Ueda
Unavailable: Igamane (Injured)

Troyes team news: Fresh doubts
Troyes head to Lille with a couple of fresh injury absentees as defender Paolo Gozzi is now potentially sidelined alongside versatile forward Merwan Ifnaoui.
Predicted XI (4-1-4-1): Beach; Maronnier, Monfray, Diaz, Ouzenadji; Diop; Le Douaron, Mille, Dermane, Picard; Ripart

Lille vs Troyes prediction
Prior to their hammering at the hands of Strasbourg at Stade de l’Aube, Troyes had started the season with a goalless draw against a strong Paris side before winning 2-1 away from home away at Lorient. That will lead them to believe they can remain competitive here but Lille remain the firm favourites to bounce back after collecting seven points from three games – only dropping points in a 2-2 draw against Paris Saint-Germain when they had led by two goals to nil until second half stoppage-time.
