Leicester Team News: Vestergaard back

Denmark international centre-back Jannik Vestergaard is expected to be back involved this week after returning to training on Monday so he could be a major boost for the Foxes at the back.

The hosts are without fringe player Odsonne Edouard as he cannot play against his parent club, whilst key men such as Mads Hermansen and Wilfred Ndidi also remain sidelined.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Stolarczyk; Justin, Faes, Vestergaard, Kristiansen; Skipp, Winks; Buonanotte, El Khannouss, Mavididi; Vardy

Unavailable: Hermansen (Injured), Pereira (Injured), Ndidi (Injured), Fatawu (Injured), Edouard (Ineligible)

Crystal Palace Team News: Injury cleared up

In his pre-match press conference, Oliver Glasner has confirmed that the illness bug that swept through the club last week in the build-up to their FA Cup tie against Stockport County has now cleared.

The Eagles will therefore have the likes of Maxence Lacroix, Tyrick Mitchell and Jean-Philippe Mateta back in the squad, whilst midfielder Will Hughes has also returned to action after injury.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Henderson; Chalobah, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Hughes, Lerma, Mitchell; Eze, Sarr; Mateta

Unavailable: Wharton (Injured), Franca (Injured)

Questionable: Holding (Out of favour)

Leicester vs Crystal Palace Prediction

Leicester City, as mentioned, come into this one on the back of a 6-2 hammering of Championship side QPR at the weekend thanks to a brace from James Justin as well as goals from Stephy Mavididi, Jamie Vardy, Facundo Buonanotte and Wout Faes. They experienced a mini new manager bounce following the appointment of Van Nistelrooy and aren’t necessarily being blown away by opponents but their form has drifted. They now face a Crystal Palace side that edged past fourth-tier Stockport County the other day after a 1-1 draw with Chelsea to kick off 2025. The Eagles started slowly but have slowly and quietly improved with two defeats in their last 11 matches across all competitions; both losses coming against Arsenal. With home advantage and Palace not quite able to produce enough victories, it could be a safe and value bet to side with the hosts.

Leicester vs Crystal Palace Tip: Double chance – Leicester to win or draw
