Leganes preview: Competitive Lega

Following their promotion to La Liga last season, Leganes have been competitive and enterprising throughout the campaign as they head into the final day knowing that if they win and Espanyol lose to Las Palmas then they will be safe from relegation.

Borja Jimenez’ side come into this one on the back of just one defeat in their last six matches. They most recently defeated Las Palmas by a goal to nil at Estadio Gran Canaria last weekend thanks to a sixth minute winner scored by attacking midfielder and top scorer Dani Raba.

Real Valladolid preview: Weak Valladolid

Real Valladolid have been one of the weakest teams in modern day La Liga history with the club, who sacked Paulo Pezzolano and replaced him with Diego Cocca in mid-December, having collected just 16 points with just four victories in their 37 matches so far this season.

Valladolid, with owner and president Ronaldo reportedly wanting to sell the club but ignoring offers, come into this one on the back of am 18-match winless run of form extended by a 1-0 defeat to Deportivo Alaves at Estadio Jose Zorrilla last weekend.

Leganes team news: Several doubts

Leganes are dealing with several injury doubts for the visit of Valladolid this weekend. They are set to potentially be without the likes of Valentin Rosier, Darko Brasanac, Yvan Neyou and Munir; whilst both Borna Barisic and Enric Franquesa are both sidelined.

Predicted XI (4-4-2): Dmitrovic; Andre Altimira, Jorge Saenz, Nastasic, Javi Hernandez; Dani Raba, Cisse, Renato Tapia, Juan Cruz; Diego Garcia, Miguel de la Fuente

Unavailable: Barisic (Injured), Enric Franquesa (Injured)

Questionable: Rosier (Injured), Brasanac (Injured), Neyou (Injured), Munir (Injured)

Real Valladolid team news: A few injuries

Real Valladolid are dealing with several injury concerns for this one with the likes of defenders David Torres and Javi Sanchez sidelined alongside Chuki, whilst both Joseph Aidoo and Stanko Juric are doubts for Valladolid, too.

Predicted XI (3-4-3): Hein; Candela, Nikitscher, Ozkacar; Anuar, Mario Martin, Amallah, Aznou; Ivan Sanchez, Juanmi Latasa, Raul Moro

Unavailable: David Torres (Injured), Javi Sanchez (Injured), Chuki (Injured)

Questionable: Aidoo (Injured), Juric (Injured)

Leganes vs Real Valladolid prediction

Leganes have shown real quality and competitiveness throughout the campaign with the Madrid-based club able to bloody the nose of the best teams in La Liga but when it comes down to the crunch time, they have reverted to their difficult to beat and hostile style. They face a Valladolid side that have been woeful throughout the season, albeit have been able to keep the score down in their recent defeats so Leganes should grind out a victory that may not be enough to keep them up.

Leganes vs Real Valladolid tip: Leganes to win & under 3.5 goals
