Leeds United may well have put themselves under a bit of pressure once again as the Whites now welcome an in-form and improved Aston Villa side to Elland Road.

Leeds preview: Importance on home advantage

Daniel Farke was already under immediate pressure following their Championship title win last season but Leeds United have been able to put in some good performances, albeit they have drifted once again down into the midst of the relegation battle.

Leeds headed into the November international break on the back of a 3-1 hammering at the hands of fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest, a week after they were beaten 3-0 by Brighton and Hove Albion at the AMEX Stadium.

Aston Villa preview: In-form Villains

After a dreadful start to the campaign, Aston Villa have been much-improved in the last couple of months as they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting tucked back inside the top six in the Premier League.

They managed to dispatch of a previously impressive AFC Bournemouth side by four goals to nil at Villa Park a fortnight ago to mean they have now won eight of their last ten matches across all competitions.

Leeds team news: Positive news

Under pressure Daniel Farke has said that all of the players that went away on international duty have returned unscathed and so the hosts have a fully fit and available squad for this one.

That would suggest that Sebastiaan Bornauw has returned to full fitness and they also have attacking duo Willy Gnonto and Daniel James now ready to start, or at least be involved.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Perri; Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Gudmundsson; Longstaff, Ampadu, Stach; Aaronson, Calvert-Lewin, Nmecha

Unavailable:

Questionable:

Aston Villa team news: Hopeful on a few

Having been away on international duty with England and Poland respectively, Unai Emery has said he is hopeful that Ezri Konsa and Matty Cash will be available for this one, while Lamare Bogarde is also hopefully set to be fit.

The Villains do, though, remain without England international defender Tyrone Mings and will have to provide a late fitness assessment of Belgium international midfielder Amadou Onana.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Torres, Digne; Tielemans, Kamara; McGinn, Rogers, Malen; Watkins

Unavailable: Mings (Injured)

Questionable: Konsa (Injured), Bogarde (Injured), Cash (Injured), Onana (Fitness)

Leeds vs Aston Villa prediction

Leeds will require performances and results when at Elland Road if they are to propel themselves away from danger this season. The Yorkshire outfit have perhaps gone too far the other way in trying to be reactive and controlling of their opposition, with a limited attacking threat. They face a Villa side that should be able to contain whatever limited attacking thrust is thrown at them and they have an abundance, and variety, of their own quality to get themselves a win.

Leeds vs Aston Villa tip: Aston Villa to win
