Osasuna preview: Delayed start
Osasuna were due to play against Celta Vigo last weekend but that game at Balaidos in Galicia was postponed due to issues with the pitch. Osasuna may well benefit from that delay and be fresher and ready to go at El Sadar on Monday.
Last season, Alessio Lisci kept Osasuna up on the final day of last season. He has been replaced by Luis Miguel Ramis. The former Real Madrid centre-back was most recently in charge of Burgos and they have overperformed in the Segunda Division in recent seasons.
Levante preview: Poor start
Levante also narrowly avoided the drop on the final day of last season but in very different form. Following the appointment of former Nantes boss Luis Castro mid-way through the campaign, Levante were genuinely one of the best sides in the second half of the season last year.
The Valencians did not carry that form through to the start of this season, though, as they succumbed to a 3-0 hammering at the hands of Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium in Barcelona last week with a brace scored by Roberto Fernandez as well as an excellent strike from former Blackburn Rovers winger Tyrhys Dolan.
Osasuna team news: Rosier remains a doubt
Osasuna have now confirmed injury absentees here but versatile defender Valentin Rosier remains a doubt due to a hamstring issue, albeit their delayed start to the season may have helped him return to full fitness.
Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Sergio Herrera; Boyomo, Alejandro Catena, Diego Rico; Moi Gomez, Iker Munoz, Jon Moncayola, Abel Bretones; Aimar Oroz, Raul Moro; Budimir
Unavailable:
Questionable: Rosier (Injured)
Levante team news: Several doubts
New signings Thiago Fernandez and Yanis Musuayi remain doubtful for this one alongside Dani Requena and Hugo Sotelo, with back-up goalkeeper Alex Primo still sidelined.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Ryan; Nacho Perez, Dela, Mandi, Manu Sanchez; Carlos Alvarez, Oriol Rey, Jon Olasagasti; Victor Garcia, Ivan Romero, Eyong
Unavailable: Alex Primo (Injured)
Questionable: Dani Requena (Injured), Thiago Fernandez (Injured), Hugo Sotelo (Injured), Musuayi (Injured)
Osasuna vs Levante prediction
Osasuna will be expected to get themselves on the front foot right from the off here, especially in front of what is usually a hostile crowd for the opposition in Pamplona. Levante managed to perform well going forward themselves last year but the sale of Carlos Espi to Real Madrid is a big blow and, as Osasuna work things out under new management and Levante appear lacklustre, a low-scoring encounter seems a good bet.
Osasuna vs Levante tip: Under 2.5 goals
