Udinese preview: Mid-table as ever
The Pozzo family have become a bit more active in terms of their multi-club ownership producing transfers between Udinese and Watford, with Udinese now the lead club in Serie A while The Hornets reside in the Championship.
Former Legia Warsaw boss Kosta Runjaic is remaining in charge of the club, though, indicating a rare sense of stability in Friuli. What the ambition is remains to be seen with a mid-table finish again seeming most likely.
Como preview: Ambitious visitors
Last season, Como finished fourth and managed to get UEFA Champions League qualification. Cesc Fabregas has emerged as one of the most highly rated young coaches in Europe with a thrilling style of football to go with the results and the ambition shown by the club.
This summer has seen Como be a little quieter in the summer transfer window with perhaps their standout signing being the surprise performance of 31-year-old midfielder Luis Milla from Getafe, providing them with some experience. The standout piece of business in general, though, has been keeping hold of Nico Paz thus far.
Udinese team news: Chakvetadze a doubt
Perhaps their marquee arrival of the summer, Georgia international attacker Giorgi Chakvetadze is now a doubt due to a foot injury with fellow former Watford man Christian Kabasele beginning this season suspended.
Predicted XI (3-5-2): Okoye; Mlacic, Goglichidze, Kamara; Vojvoda, Lovric, Oier Zarraga, Karlstrom, Juan Arizala; Davis, Zaniolo
Unavailable: Kabasele (Suspended)
Questionable: Zanoli (Injured), Chakvetadze (Injured)
Como team news: No Addai
Como have no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues ahead of the start of this season. Versatile attacker Jayden Addai remains sidelined after an Achilles injury he sustained back in February.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Butez; Couto, Kempf, Jacobo, Alex Valle; Maximo Perrone, Luis Milla; Diao, Nico Paz, Douvikas; Alvaro Morata
Unavailable: Addai (Injured)
Questionable:
Udinese vs Como prediction
Como play a brilliant style of football but they do face a tougher test when autumn arrives as they aim to balance domestic and European commitments for the first time ever. An importance will be placed on racking up the points early on therefore, and so they will likely get on the front foot from the start here with both teams scoring seeming a decent bet as Udinese also seek to get off to a flyer in front of their home crowd.
