Al Ahli vs Abha prediction
Matthias Jaissle, after winning back-to-back AFC Champions League titles, has left Al Ahli for Newcastle United over the summer. The former Red Bull Salzburg boss has been replaced by Marino Pusic and he began life in the Saudi Pro League with a 1-0 defeat of newly-promoted Diriyah last week before a similarly unconvincing 2-1 victory over Al Anwar in the cup.
Abha were relegated in the 2024-25 campaign but bounced back to the top-flight at the first attempt, beginning their return to the Saudi Pro League with a 2-1 loss to Al Hazem before succumbing to a penalty shotout loss to Al Orobah in the King’s Cup of Champions.
As a result of that, Al Ahli are expected to again come out on top but, again, they are unlikely to be dominant and a low-scoring clash is to be expected.
