LAFC vs Club America prediction

Los Angeles FC have been a very impressive franchise since their first ever MLS season in 2019, having won the Western Conference on three occasions, two Supporters’ Shields and one MLS Cup. They are two-time CONCACAF Champions Cup runners’ up but are one of the strongest sides in North America, with Steve Cherundolo at the helm.

They face a Club America side that have dominated Liga MX for a while now with a 2023 and 2024 Apertura title and the 2024 Clausura title but they finished as runners’ up in this season’s Clausura, recently finishing behind Toluca. Andre Jardine’s Eagles are seven-time champions of North America but haven’t won the CONCACAF Champions Cup since 2016.

These are two strong sides and both sides would be befitting of a spot in this summer’s inaugural expanded FIFA Club World Cup but, with home advantage and America still reeling from their two-legged final loss to Toluca, siding with LAFC would appear the way to go for this one.
