Juventus preview: Confidence boost in midweek
Juventus come into this one on the back of a 5-0 demolition of NEC Nijmegen in their opening game of the league phase of the UEFA Europa League with Nico Gonzalez, Kerim Alajbegovic, Nick Woltemade, Zeki Celik and Randal Kolo Muani scoring.
The Old Lady needed that win after a couple of poor weeks in Serie A, snatching a 1-1 draw against AC Milan at home before then succumbing to a dramatic 3-2 defeat away from home against Sassuolo last weekend.
Atalanta preview: Inconsistent Bergamasci
Maurizio Sarri’s famed ‘Sarri-ball’ is often overly complex and pedestrian in its possession-dominant style and the Bergamasci still have teething issues, winning three, drawing one and losing two of their six matches across all competitions.
Their two defeats have come in their last two games in Serie A with a forgivable loss to Roma at the Stadio Olimpico backed up by an underwhelming and very poor performance in a 2-1 defeat at home to Cagliari last weekend.

Left-back Juan Cabal, the versatile Andrea Cambiaso and United States international midfielder Weston McKennie are working their way back to full fitness ahead of this one.

Maurizio Sarri was criticised for his style of football being fairly dull and a little uppity in its tactical values. The ideologue now comes up against the more proactive but still attacking and often combustible Luciano Spalletti, who himself is under a bit of pressure at the Allianz Stadium. However, with their impressive freedom shown in midweek, siding with Juve remains the way to go for this one in Piedmont.
