Key Stats

  • Côte d'Ivoire have won nine of their last 11 World Cup qualifying matches (D1 L1). They are unbeaten in the current campaign with five wins and one draw.
  • Côte d'Ivoire have won 15 of their last 18 World Cup qualifying matches at home (D1 L2).
  • Côte d'Ivoire have not conceded a goal in their previous six matches in the current World Cup qualifying campaign.
  • Burundi have lost only two of their last eight World Cup qualifying matches (W3 D3).

Ivory Coast vs Burundi Prediction

Coached by Emerse Fae, the Ivory Coast perhaps have a better side than what won the 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations in 2024. Les Elephants sit two points behind an impressive Gabonese side in their group at the moment, albeit this is a game in hand after Gabon beat Seychelles about 48 hours before this one takes place.

Burundi have often been surprisingly entertaining to watch in the last half a decade or so and their six qualifiers have consisted of 20 goals, showing that once again. They are third and six behind Ivory Coast, so a shock Burundi victory would give them a sniff of finishing second and reaching the playoffs.

Ivory Coast haven’t been overly convincing but they remain extremely strong and, at Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan, they should win quite comfortably.

Ivory Coast vs Burundi Tip: Ivory Coast to win & over 2.5 goals
