Italy vs Spain prediction

Italy’s defence will need to be at their most disciplined and absolute best to have the best chance against Spain, who are fast establishing themselves as the best in class across all age groups in both women and men’s football. Across five games at this World Cup, the Spaniards have given up just the one goal and are yet to concede in the knockout stage. Finding a way to enjoy an extended spell of possession will be hard enough for Italy, never mind a way to finally breach this Spanish backline.

But the attack of Spain shouldn’t be ignored. They’ve scored 19 goals and are taking on a side who are yet to keep a clean sheet since the start of the knockout stage. Like all others that have taken them on, Italy just can’t match Spain’s class and ruthlessness when on form and it’s hard not to see this outstanding Spanish side going to the final.
