Genoa preview: Tough start for Genoa

After going winless in their opening nine games of last season, Genoa eventually improved with the replacement of Patrick Vieira of Daniele De Rossi but now the Roma legend is overseeing his own poor start to a Genoa season.

The Genovese have succumbed to three defeats from three, scoring just one goal so far this season. They were hammered 4-1 by Cesc Fabregas’ Como in their most recent outing in a result that perhaps flattered them.

Frosinone preview: Impressive from Frosinone

Following their promotion to the top-flight last season, Frosinone have started the campaign well after they were competitive in a hard-fought 1-0 defeat at home to Juventus on the opening weekend of the campaign.

The Romans have since enjoyed back-to-back victories with a 3-0 hammering of Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi before an entertaining 3-2 win against fellow newly-promoted outfit Venezia last week.

Genoa team news: Couple of issues

Genoa have a couple of issues for this weekend with Lorenzo Venturino still unavailable and now fellow attacker Elias Havel dealing with a thigh injury.

Predicted XI (3-4-1-2): Biljow; Marcandalli, Ostigard, Johan Vasquez; Sabelli, Frendrup, Sow, Ellertsson; Baldanzi; Osmajic, Colombo

Unavailable: Venturino (Injured)

Questionable: Havel (Injured)

Frosinone team news: Fully fit

Frosinone can name an unchanged eleven for this one with a fully fit and available squad with no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues to deal with.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Palmisani; A. Oyono, Calvani, Cittadini, Bracaglia; Masini, Calo; Fini, Schmid, Kvernadze; Raimondo

Unavailable:

Questionable:

Genoa vs Frosinone prediction

Under the management of Massimiliano Alvini, Frosinone were impressive in attack last season and I Canarini have again been good to watch going forward this season, scoring three goals against Fiorentina and Venezia – having not done so throughout their previous Serie A campaign in the 2024-25 campaign. Genoa look to be in a really tough spot and, as was shown against Como, defensively weak, too, so siding with Frosinone would be the way to go for this one.

Genoa vs Frosinone tip: Double chance – Frosinone to win or draw
