After a tough opener against likely title challengers Arsenal, Ruben Amorim's Man Utd seek their first points of the season at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Fulham preview: Muniz to the rescue

Fulham snatched a draw from the jaws of defeat in their opener against Brighton last weekend, with substitute Rodrigo Muniz - linked with a move away from the club - making it 1-1 with virtually the last kick of the match.

The Cottagers lost both Premier League contests against Man Utd by a goal to nil in 2024-25, but they did defeat the Red Devils on penalties in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Man Utd's new-look attack was unable to breach the Arsenal defence last weekend and Ruben Amorim's side were ultimately defeated 0-1 by the Gunners at Old Trafford.

The goalkeeper situation remains a concern with Altay Bayindir failing to convince in Andre Onana's absence, but both Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha both delivered promising performances in the attacking areas.

Fulham team news: Late call on duo

A late decision will be made on both Antonee Robinson and Ryan Sessegnon's involvement, with both players having not been risked last weekend.

Marco Silva stressed the club's desire to keep hold of Muniz despite external interest, and confirmed that the Brazilian is once again available for selection this weekend.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Leno; Tete, Andersen, Cuenca, Bassey; Lukic, Berge; Wilson, King, Iwobi; Jimenez

Unavailable:

Questionable: Robinson (Fitness), Sessegnon (Fitness)

Man Utd team news: Sesko in-line to start

Onana has been declared fit but Amorim would not reveal whether he would start in goal on Sunday, while defenders Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui are still in the treatment room.

Amorim may opt to start Amad Diallo as a more attacking option over Diogo Dalot on the right, while summer arrival Benjamin Sesko could be handed his first competitive start for the club.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Bayindir; Yoro, De Ligt, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dorgu; Mbeumo, Cunha; Sesko

Unavailable: Martinez (Injured), Mazraoui (Injured)

Fulham vs Man Utd prediction

Although Marco Silva will have been delighted with the fact his Fulham side claimed a late draw at Brighton last weekend, he will not have been too impressed with the performance of his players in the opening match.

It is perhaps the opposite case for Ruben Amorim and Man Utd, who showed some promise in defeat to an excellent Arsenal side on Sunday.

Given the attacking talent at their disposal, with Bruno Fernandes pulling the strings behind a front three of Mbeumo, Cunha and potentially Sesko, we could witness Man Utd's first three points of the season in this fixture.
