Fiorentina have started their season poorly once again despite an ambitious summer as I Viola now welcome Torino to the Artemio Franchi in Florence.

Fiorentina preview: Flopping Fiorentina

Having spent last season in a surprise relegation battle, Fiorentina have spent heavily over the summer to try and kick on this time around but they have again struggled at the start of this season after the appointment of Fabio Grosso.

I Viola started with a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Roma at the Stadio Olimpico before they then succumbed to an even poorer 3-0 hammering at the hands of newly-promoted Frosinone in Florence last weekend.

Torino preview: Slow start

Torino took the decision to appoint Ignazio Abate over the summer but the former AC Milan right-back has struggled at the start of his reign in Piedmont with Torino also suffering two defeats from two thus far.

The visitors suffered a 2-1 loss at home to AC Milan before a 2-1 defeat away to Sassuolo before they then succumbed to a 1-0 loss at home to Monza in the round of 32 of the Coppa Italia in midweek.

Fiorentina team news: More signings

Fiorentina also again brought in more players before the close of the window with Beto joining from Everton as well as the loan additions of Pedro Goncalves and Willy Gnonto.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): David de Gea; Alex Jimenez, Dragusin, Pongracic, Valde; Ndour, Inao Oulai, Atta; Mastantuono, Mateo Pellegrino, Gnonto

Unavailable: Parisi (Injured)

Questionable:

Torino team news: Casadei a doubt

Former Chelsea midfielder Cesare Casadei is now an injury doubt for the visitors with goalkeeper Franco Israel remaining unavailable due to a shoulder injury.

Predicted XI (3-4-1-2): Mascardi; Comuzzo, Saul Coco, Comert; Fortini, Fitz-Jim, Gineitis, Cacciamani; Vlasic; Adams, Giovanni Simeone

Unavailable: Franco Israel (Injured)

Questionable: Casadei (Injured)

Fiorentina vs Torino prediction

Home advantage should ensure that Fiorentina will get on the front foot. However, the sheer volume of the signings that they have made over the summer has left them looking disconnected across the park. They now face a Torino side that are themselves seemingly set for a tougher campaign than expected. Fiorentina are favourites to get themselves on track but their performance level thus far suggests it will not be convincing.

Fiorentina vs Torino tip: Fiorentina to win & under 3.5 goals
