Estudiantes come into this one on the back of a 1-0 loss to Velez Sarsfield in the Argentine Primera Division as they sit third-from-bottom in Group A of the 2026 Clausura. The hosts overcame Universidad Catolica by four goals to one on aggregate in the round of 16 last month.
Corinthians have continued to underwhelm domestically as they sit 11th in the Serie A table after a 2-1 defeat at home to Chapecoense the other day. Corinthians have won just one of their last six matches across all competitions but that one win did see them get past Rosario Central in the round of 16.
Corinthians were fortunate to get through that tie with a slender 1-0 aggregate victory but neither side are too convincing and so a low-scoring clash seems a decent bet for this first-leg at Estadio Jorge Luis Hirschi in La Plata.
