Melbourne City vs Western Sydney Wanderers prediction

Melbourne City have steadily improved as the weeks have gone on. Their Melbourne derby draw was followed up by a battling 2-1 victory over Sydney FC, leaving them on four points from a possible nine.

As for Western Sydney Wanderers, a resounding 5-2 triumph against Auckland FC was sandwiched in between scoreless draws on the road. Whilst they've proved unbeatable so far on their travels, Wanderers are still yet to score away from home, with head coach Ufuk Talay prioritising defensive stability.

The form of Western Sydney Wanderers' back line cannot be ignored. But the hosts look a very different side to the one that limped to defeat in Auckland in the opening round. Separating these two clubs will be difficult, and it may be worth backing a third draw in four league matches for WSW.
