Equatorial Guinea do come into this one, though, on the back of a 3-2 victory over Sao Tome e Principe at Stade Municipal in the neutral venue of Oujda in Morocco. Pablo Ganet, Iban Salvador and Jose Nabil scored second-half goals for the Equatorial Guineans, after they had been surprisingly 2-0 down at half-time.
They now face a Tunisia side that do appear to be a lot stronger than they were a couple of years ago as they seek a third successive FIFA World Cup qualification. They eased themselves to a comfortable victory over Liberia the other day, winning 3-0, courtesy of goals from Hazem Mastouri, Ferjani Sassi and Elias Saad.
Equatorial Guinea’s performance level is underwhelming at the moment, and Tunisia will be expected to edge their way closer to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
