Shanelle Dyer: “Nightmare” looking to prove her worth
Shanelle Dyer (6-0) is one of the most promising female UK prospects to appear on the Contender Series in recent memory. The 24-year-old flyweight has already made headway on the European scene under the PFL Europe banner, and now looks to take the next step towards the UFC.
Dyer brings an impressive striking pedigree, with clean technique, slick combinations, and a calm, composed presence in the cage. She followed up a viral head-kick knockout over Mariam Torchinava with a split decision win over Valentina Scatizzi, showcasing her ability to handle adversity and grind out a win. Fighting out of Great Britain Top Team, she’s a strong and physical 125er at 5’6", and is slowly rounding out her game — with signs of solid defensive wrestling and occasional offensive grappling to complement her striking.
What makes Dyer dangerous is how fluid and sharp she looks on the feet. She applies pressure with a variety of kicks and crisp hands, often overwhelming opponents with volume and technique rather than brute force. While her finishes have mostly come via strikes, she’s shown composure in longer fights as well.
Carol Foro: Brazilian brawler looking to break through
Carol Foro (6-0) enters the Contender Series as an undefeated 28-year-old with a fan-friendly, high-pressure style. She’s racked up a six-fight winning streak with 75% of her wins coming by knockout — all against fairly limited competition in Brazil.
Standing just 5’2", Foro is moving up a weight class to compete at flyweight, and will be the smaller fighter on fight night. That said, she makes up for it with sheer aggression. Stylistically similar to fellow Brazilian Jessica Andrade, she walks opponents down and throws heavy hooks in close range, looking to turn every exchange into a brawl. Her durability and forward pressure make her dangerous, but her lack of reach and defensive awareness could be exploited by a more technical striker.
Shanelle Dyer vs Carol Foro prediction
This fight has all the makings of a solid fight — a composed, technical striker against an aggressive brawler. Foro will likely try to charge forward early, throwing heavy punches in search of another KO. But Dyer has the tools to stay calm, use her reach, footwork, and superior technique to pick her apart from the outside.
With the better resume, higher-level experience under the PFL banner, and more polished all-around game, Dyer should be able to avoid the early chaos and gradually take over. Don’t be surprised if she scores another highlight-reel finish — or cruises to a clear decision.
Prediction: Shanelle Dyer to win
