Cremonese preview: Steady Cremonese
Following their promotion to Serie A last season, and an ambitious summer transfer window, Cremonese appointed Davide Nicola and that has led the hosts to a strong start with just three defeats in their opening 11 matches of the campaign.
However, two of those three defeats have come in their last two matches before the November international break. After being beaten 2-1 by Juventus in Lombardy, they then suffered a 1-0 loss to fellow newly-promoted side Pisa in Tuscany.
Roma preview: Impressive Romans
Former Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini took charge of Roma over the summer with a view to ensuring they returned to being a force, rather than an underperforming side, and they have been extremely impressive, albeit not remotely entertaining.
The Giallorossi, bizarrely for a Gasperini coached side, have scored just 12 goals in 11 games, as they sit just behind Internazionale at the top-of-the-table on goal difference, courtesy of eight victories and three defeats in Serie A thus far.
Cremonese team news: Several doubts
Cremonese have several doubts for this weekend as midfielder Alberto Grassi is potentially sidelined alongside the likes of Giuseppe Pezzella and Faris Moumbagna.
Predicted XI (3-5-2): Audero; Terracciano, Baschirotto, Bianchetti; Barbieri, Payero, Bondo, Vandeputte, Faye; Vazquez, Vardy
Unavailable: Collocolo (Injured)
Questionable: Faye (Injured), Grassi (Injured), Pezzella (Injured), Moumbagna (Injured), Zerbin (Injured)
Roma team news: Key attacking issues
Roma are dealing with plenty of key issues in attack as both Paulo Dybala and Artem Dovbyk are sidelined with both Leon Bailey and Evan Ferguson doubtful this weekend.
Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Svilar; Mancini, Mario Hermoso, Ndicka; Celik, Cristante, Kone, Wesley; Matias Soule, Pellegrini; El Shaarawy
Unavailable: Bove (Illness), Dybala (Injured), Dovbyk (Injured)
Questionable: Angelino (Injured), Bailey (Injured), Ferguson (Injured)
Cremonese vs Roma prediction
There is an expectation that Roma will eventually find some fluency and form in the final third. The Giallorossi have a lot of quality in their squad but they have not yet found the rhythm of Gasperini’s Atalanta sides. Cremonese, especially with Davide Nicola at the helm, will be keen to ensure things remain tight and are decided by fine margins. The Romans would have to remain favourites for a likely low-scoring affair in Cremona.
