Birmingham City vs Wrexham prediction

Whilst Wrexham’s recent rise has been meteoric, since crossing Birmingham City on their way up the pyramid, Phil Parkinson’s side are yet to beat the Blues in league competition. Of course, Birmingham were the team who beat Wrexham to the League One title last season, defeating them 3-1 at St. Andrew’s, the venue for this latest encounter between the two clubs.

Their most recent battle earlier this campaign ended in a 1-1 draw, the second time in a row these sides have tied by that scoreline since Birmingham’s St. Andrew’s victory. But the stakes this time around are significantly higher for Wrexham, who sit two points outside of the play-off places after being thrashed by a red-hot Southampton in midweek.

Birmingham City should be really up for this one, despite their current midtable status. Chris Davies’ side have struggled on the road but being back home will help and they remain a club full of formidable attacking players that have under-performed of late. Wrexham are tough to beat however, losing just 11 of 41 in the Championship so far.

Only four clubs in the second tier have registered more draws than the Red Dragons and when considering Parkinson’s struggles when it comes to getting the better of Birmingham, it’s well worth backing this latest showdown to also finish level.

Birmingham City vs Wrexham tip: Draw
