Now under the management of former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Besiktas improved in the second-half of the Turkish Super Lig last season. Due to lots of off-field issues, Shakhtar Donetsk underperformed last season and ended up third in the Ukrainian Premier League. They hammered Ilves Tampere by six goals to nil in the first-leg, before a goalless draw in the second-leg with a heavily changed side.
