Key Stats

  • Only one of Benin’s previous 56 World Cup qualifying matches finished without a goal being scored (the only 0-0 was against Lesotho in November 2023).
  • Zimbabwe have won only one of their last 24 World Cup qualifying matches (D10 L13). They are without a win in 12 (D6 L6), since a 3-1 home victory against Somalia in September 2019.
  • Zimbabwe have drawn five of their last seven World Cup qualifying matches (L2).

Benin vs Zimbabwe Prediction

Benin come into this one on the back of a slender 1-0 defeat to Morocco in an international friendly during the June international break. They are now winless in their last eight matches now. They had started their CAF qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as they push for a top two spot in Africa.

Zimbabwe, on the other hand, are the only team that remain winless in Group C as they sit rock-bottom. The Zimbabweans have collected four points, though, with six matches, as they sit nine behind group leaders South Africa and compete with Benin, as well as Rwanda, Nigeria and Lesotho for the top two.

These are two sides in a competitive group that will consider themselves to be underperforming and a low-scoring encounter would appear quite likely for this one.

Benin vs Zimbabwe Tip: Under 2.5 goals
