Belgium have not yet wrapped up FIFA World Cup qualification but the Red Devils will be able to do so by simply easing past an extremely poor Liechtenstein side on Tuesday.

Key stats

  • Belgium are unbeaten in their last 35 World Cup qualifying matches (W27 D8), since a 2-0 away defeat against Estonia in October 2009.
  • Belgium are unbeaten in their last 18 World Cup qualifying matches at home (W14 D4).
  • Liechtenstein have won just two of their previous 77 World Cup qualifying matches. Both of those wins came in the 2006 qualifiers against Luxembourg.

Belgium vs Liechtenstein prediction

Following the appointment of former Roma boss Rudi Garcia, Belgium have been unconvincing in terms of their performance level and that continued once again at the weekend as they shared a 1-1 draw with Kazakhstan at the Astana Arena. They will confirm qualification by brushing past a poor Liechtenstein side.

Liechtenstein have perhaps regressed to being the worst team in European international football, having been beaten twice by San Marino in the UEFA Nations League last year. They were stubborn to beat at the weekend, though, as they suffered a 1-0 loss at home to Wales.

Liechtenstein will try and shut up shop and did frustrate Belgium for a while last month, and the Belgians should ease to a comfortable victory here in Brussels.

Belgium vs Liechtenstein tip: Belgium to win -2 handicap
