Celje came so close to reaching the holy grail of the Champions League for the very first time but fell agonisingly short, losing to Slovan Bratislava after extra time following a 2-2 draw across two legs. It was a heartbreaker for the Slovenian champions but the Europa League will provide them with some glamourous fixtures as well, not least Bayer Leverkusen.
The Bundesliga side have had a few issues defensively of late, although scoring goals has not been a problem. They’ve found the net 12 times across their last four games in all competitions, scoring at least twice in all four of those matches. Such attacking prowess should see them wind up far too strong for Celje, particularly if the likes of Patrik Schick start. Back the hosts to triumph by at least a couple of goals.
