Azerbaijan vs Tajikistan prediction
Azerbaijan have drifted in the last couple of years, having verged on genuine competitiveness in UEFA qualifying for both UEFA European Championships and FIFA World Cups about a decade ago. They did end a five-match losing streak with a hard-fought and unconvincing 2-1 win against minnows San Marino back in June.
Tajikistan come into this one on the back of a 1-1 draw with India after a 3-1 defeat of the same opposition in a couple of friendlies over the summer. They are now unbeaten in nine matches since losing 5-0 to Belarus back in March 2025.
The defeat to the Eastern Europeans is perhaps more reflective of how they will fare here, rather than form in AFC Asian Cup qualification, so siding with the Azeris is the way to go for this one.
