Arminia Bielefeld vs Werder Bremen Prediction

It’s been a brilliant journey so far for Arminia Bielefeld of the third tier and they’ll hope it doesn’t come to an end here but to overcome Werder Bremen, currently 12th-place in the Bundesliga would take a mammoth effort. The visitors will have to overcome a hostile, raucous Arminia home crowd and they come into this quarter-final on a rough stretch of form having been thrashed 5-0 by Freiburg last time out, their third straight defeat.

Most notable from a Werder perspective has been their inability to keep out the opposition. The backline are leaking goals at an alarming rate, shipping 11 goals across those last three losses and conceding at least three times in each of those games. This is something Arminia will have taken notice of and a fast start with an extended spell of pressure on the Werder could reap rewards.

It would be no surprise to see Arminia get chances here, but Werder should dominate regardless with a much stronger as you would expect being two divisions higher. However, whilst backing the away side to win is a sensible move, it would be no surprise to see both teams find the net.
