Argentina vs Venezuela prediction

Despite the fact that Argentina have already qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and will comfortably top the CONMEBOL standings in the process, this fixture carries an extra significance as it could very well be Lionel Messi’s final competitive game in his native Argentina.

The world champions entertain a Venezuela side who currently occupy the inter-confederation play-off spot, just one point ahead of Bolivia, so they have plenty to play for as they chase a first ever appearance at the World Cup.

Their fate is likely to go to the last fixture though; they tend to struggle on the road and are facing an opponent who will do everything in their power to give Messi a match to remember in Buenos Aires.

Backing the great man to get on the scoresheet is rarely a bad idea, and it could well be written in the script here.
