Alaves Preview: Defensive Alaves

Deportivo Alaves come into this one on the back of a much-needed and well-timed improvement in their performances and results with the Basque side having now suffered just one defeat in their last four matches in La Liga.

The home team come into this one on the back of a slender Basque derby victory over Real Sociedad by a goal to nil at Mendizorroza last weekend courtesy of a 65th minute winner scored by right-back Nahuel Tenaglia.

Atletico Madrid Preview: Little to play for

Atletico Madrid have little to play for in the final five games of the 2024/25 La Liga season with their poor form in the spring seeing them exit both the UEFA Champions League and the Copa del Rey as well as fall away in what was a competitive title race.

Los Rojiblancos have managed three victories in their last four matches and Diego Simeone’s side most recently dispatched of Rayo Vallecano in a Madrid derby about ten days ago courtesy of goals from Alexander Sorloth, Conor Gallagher and Julian Alvarez.

Alaves vs Atletico Madrid Prediction

Alaves took the surprising and controversial but long awaited decision to sack manager Luis Garcia Plaza and things did not initially go to plan following the appointment of former Celta Vigo boss Eduardo Coudet. However, they have been much-improved of late and they will fancy their chances of making things difficult for an often stifled Atletico side that also have little to play for so siding with Alaves looks a good value bet for this one in the Basque Country.

Alaves vs Atletico Madrid Tip: Double chance – Alaves to win or draw
