Real Sociedad preview: Frustrated La Real
After a bright start to his time at the Reale Arena, Pellegrino Matarazzo led Real Sociedad to Copa del Rey glory in April but they finished last season poorly and have been fairly average at the start of this season.
That said, La Real went into the prolonged international break on the back of an entertaining 3-2 victory over Valencia at Mestalla, courtesy of a 91st minute winner scored by winger Ander Barrenetxea in that one.
Deportivo La Coruna preview: Super Depor
Following their long-awaited promotion back to La Liga last season, Deportivo La Coruna experienced an eye-catching summer transfer window and the Galicians have been one of the surprise packages in the top-flight thus far.
Depor have won two and drawn four of their opening seven matches in La Liga, heading into the break on the back of a 1-1 draw with Real Betis at Riazor a few weeks ago, courtesy of an 87th minute equaliser scored by Diego Villares.
Real Sociedad team news: Oskarsson suspended
Iceland international striker Orri Oskarsson was sent off in that victory against Valencia and so he is now missing through suspension with Hector Fort also sustaining a knee injury over the break.
Predicted XI (4-4-1-1): Alex Remiro; Jon Aramburu, Jon Martin, Luken Beitia, Sergio Gomez; Guedes, Jon Gorrotxategi, Carlos Soler, Ochieng; Sucic; Mikel Oyarzabal
Unavailable: Alvaro Odriozola (Injured), Oskarsson (Suspended)
Questionable: Igor Zubeldia (Injured), Hector Fort (Injured)
Deportivo La Coruna team news: Key injuries
Marc Casado suffered a broken collarbone against Betis with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang then also requiring surgery, while Lorenzo Amatucci is also now a doubt alongside versatile attacker Zakaria Eddahchouri.
Predicted XI (4-4-2): Leo Roman; Ximi Navarro, Jose Maria Gimenez, Ede, Quagliata; David Mella, Diego Villares, Riki, Asp Jensen; Mario Soriano, Nsongo
Unavailable: Marc Casado (Injured), Aubameyang (Injured)
Questionable: Amatucci (Injured), Eddahchouri (Injured)
Real Sociedad vs Deportivo La Coruna prediction
Real Sociedad will continue to play with a bit of enterprise and a lot of intensity but they could do with becoming a bit more precise and efficient. They have managed three wins in their last five games after beginning with back-to-back defeats. Depor always carry a threat even without Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and so both teams scoring would appear a decent bet for this one in Northern Spain.
