Troyes preview: Mixed start for Troyes
Troyes have started the 2026-27 Ligue 1 campaign with one victory, a draw and three defeats in their opening five games. Their major concern will be 11 goals conceded in five games with only Auxerre having conceded more than them.
The home team headed into the international break on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Angers at Stade Raymond Kopa a few weeks ago due to goals scored by Prosper Peter and Abdallah Sbai.
Marseille preview: Another rebuild
Over the summer, financial issues restricted Marseille to the point of not being able to bring in any new signings despite several notable departures such as Leonardo Balerdi, Mason Greenwood and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Former Lille and Stade Rennais boss Bruno Genesio was appointed and his start has been a poor one with five successive defeats across all competitions since winning their opening game of the campaign.
Troyes team news: Players returning
Troyes have a few players that are close to returning to full fitness such as Paolo Gozzi, Ismael Boura, Merwan Ifnaoui and Yacouba Kone.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Beach; Donkor, Monfray, Diaz, Ouzenadji; Gomis, Diop, Dermane; Mille, Le Douaron, Nkada
Unavailable: Titi (Injured)
Questionable: Gozzi (Injured), Boura (Fitness), Ifnaoui (Injured), Kone (Injured)
Marseille team news: Plenty of injuries
Marseille have plenty of fresh issues with Timothy Weah suspended, Derek Cornelius injured and Amine Harit, Amine Gouiri and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg now all doubtful, too.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): De Lange; Bezahaf, Egan-Riley, Aguerd, Emerson; Abdelli, Gomes; Abdallah, Harit, Igor Paixao; Maupay
Unavailable: Cornelius (Injured), Weah (Suspended)
Questionable: Kondogbia (Fitness), Hojbjerg (Injured), Harit (Injured), Mmadi (Injured), Gouiri (Injured)
Troyes vs Marseille prediction
Marseille hammered Strasbourg by four goals to nil at Stade Velodrome on the opening day but they have lost every game since then, most recently succumbing to a 2-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in Le Classique. They need a response over the break but don’t have many options to turn to. They will fancy themselves to at least score and probably win here given Troyes’ defensive record, though.
