It has been a strong start to the domestic season for AC Milan but they need a response here from their midweek outing as they welcome Lecce to San Siro.

AC Milan preview: Strong start

AC Milan have started their 2026-27 Serie A season with two victories and then two draws, fighting back from 2-0 down to share the spoils with Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico last weekend, courtesy of a brace scored by Diego Moreira.

However, they did succumb to their first defeat of the season in midweek as they were beaten 2-0 by Marco Silva’s Benfica in their first league phase game in the UEFA Europa League at San Siro on Wednesday.

Lecce preview: Evolving Lecce

Having narrowly survived the drop in each of the last couple of seasons, Lecce have attempted to evolve their style back to the more preferred proactive approach of former Roma and Frosinone manager Eusebio Di Francesco.

That was shown last weekend as the Apulia-based outfit defeated Monza by three goals to two at Stadio Comunale Via del Mare with all three of their goals scored in the first 21 minutes; a brace from Lasso Coulibaly and one from defender Tiago Gabriel.

AC Milan team news: Fully fit

Koni De Winter and Christian Pulisic have been fitness issues for Milan but both are now fit with Diego Moreira beginning to show why they spent so big on him from Strasbourg in the summer.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Maignan; Mario Gila, De Winter, Pavlovic; Chukwueze, Modric, Rabiot, Pervis Estupinan; Diego Moreira, Pulisic; Ramos

Unavailable:

Questionable:

Lecce team news: Geubbels out

Star summer signing Willem Geubbels remains unavailable for Lecce this weekend, with both Omri Gandelman and Medon Berisha also doubtful for the visitors.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Falcone; Veiga, Siebert, Tiago Gabriel, Gallo; Coulibaly, Maleh, Ilic; N’Dri, Stulic, Monteiro

Unavailable: Geubbels (Injured)

Questionable: Gandelman (Injured), Berisha (Injured)

AC Milan vs Lecce prediction

AC Milan haven’t convinced. They remain unbeaten and have shown signs of improvement from the back end of last season when they collapsed outside of the top four. Amorim will be hoping his Rossoneri side to show a major response from their midweek humbling. Lecce have been better to watch this year and will fancy themselves to at least bloody the nose of their hosts, albeit Milan do remain favourites at the Giuseppe Meeazza.

AC Milan vs Lecce tip: AC Milan to win & both teams to score
